Fall 2010 Trend: Prep School

One of the biggest trends for this fall will be the revival of the preppy look. It is fairly easy to recreate because it combines classic pieces such as plaid and twill skirts, the button up blouse, and the blazer. You can try wearing all three, but if you think it’s too much – just one piece will do. To give you a better idea of what this trend may look like, I’m bringing to you some great films and television shows depicting the latest style trend. Get ready to become inspired!

Not Another Teen Movie

I wasn’t alive in the 80’s, but that doesn’t mean I don’t know about Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, The Breakfast Club, and Pretty in Pink.

They were classics! Everyone loved them and everyone still loves them to this day.

From the time I was born up until… 2000, teenage hit movies were all the rage. They were funny, refreshing, and most of the time true. I didn’t know that yet because I was still probably eight and hadn’t lived through high school. Also, the actors and actresses in these movies sometimes overlapped and I swear, these kids all did the same movies together.

These had to be some of my favorite movies. A decade has passed and I want to know where they went. We had Mean Girls, yes, but that’s where it began and ended. Now that I’m ten years older, I wonder if I would still love these movies as much if they were to resurface again. Maybe it will just remain a part of my childhood.

– Actress Dania Ramirez, who plays Maya on Heroes has been delcared the new face of CoverGirl.

– Twitter was down early this morning causing spectulation that the site had been hacked. Facebook had similar problems as well.

– The Boys Are Back movie trailer starring Clive Owen

– John Hughes has passed away this morning at the age of 59 due to a heart attack. He is best known as the director for “Sixteen Candles,” “The Breakfast Club,” “Pretty In Pink,” and “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off.”

– Victoria Beckham is set to appear as a guest judge on at least one episode of American Idol next season.

– Robin Antin says the Pussycat Dolls are NOT broken up. …yet.

– Miley Cyrus’s sister Noah Cyrus dressing really…nice. Yeah she’s 9.

– Oprah is getting sued for one trillion dollars for allegedly plagiarizing part of the book “A Tome of Poetry” written by Damon Lloyd Goffe. The suit was filed July 31st and Oprah herself had even said that she used his book? Now Goffe thinks he should be making money off of it too.
