In Powerful Covers of the Day…

Wow, NY Magazine is making a huge statement with this cover and it is incredible. So far, 46 women have come forward about being assaulted by Bill Cosby. The cover features the 35 women that are okay being photographed and interviewed for the article. Bill Cosby’s show came out before I was born and had its final season when I was just two years old so I didn’t have any strong ties to him or the sitcom at all, but until this story came out, I do know that a lot of people really adored Bill Cosby. It’s actually quite sad that this has happened though, but very empowering for these women to stand up and have a voice about the matter. It’s such a takedown on Bill Cosby, but this is the right thing to do.

Introducing: Caitlyn Jenner

Today was a HUGE breakthrough for not only the trans community, but for beauty and just owning being yourself. I was getting ready for work this morning when I caught my first glimpse of the Vanity Fair cover and thought that it was flawless. I had heard a rumor a couple days ago that she would be changing her name to Caitlyn Jenner and then that she’d be covering Vanity Fair, but I honestly didn’t think that this would all happen so fast. Nadia and I decided that Caitlyn looks a lot like Bruce mixed with Cindy Crawford (her hair!) and a young Janice Dickinson. I’m really proud that Vanity Fair was able to cover this. It’s so important and I’m really looking forward to reading Caitlyn’s story soon!

Cover of the Day:

This New Yorker cover full of Hillary-themed emojis was too adorable to not post. They’re not as cute as the North West set, but we’d still be pretty happy with this anyways. Designed by artist Barry Blitt, these 30 emojis were designed to model off of some of our favorite emojis currently and some looks that she is known for. My favorite? HOBviously the one with her sunglasses.

Sarah Hyland x Cosmo

Typically when we go off the grid from Yow Yow! it’s best to ease into a bit more slowly. I’ve been battling a nasty cold that’s been going around the office and it’s sticking around a lot longer than I would prefer. Naturally, that puts a little behind the news, but I’m going to play some catch up before I go to bed early!

Our favorite ‘Modern Family’ star, Sarah Hyland, was featured in Cosmo recently and she looks fantastic! I think we’re all excited for Sarah to have an amazing year especially coming out of her long-term abusive relationship in 2014. We heard a rumor that she’s dating again and we think she totally deserves to be happy and in love (hopefully!) once again!

Dakota Johnson x Vogue

With 50 Shades of Grey being released next month on Valentine’s Day, it’s not exactly a shocker that Dakota Johnson is Vogue’s February cover girl. The more I see the ads for this movie, the more I get excited for it despite having never read any of the books. I mean I didn’t think too highly of the books to begin with, but all of my girlfriends loved it and couldn’t get enough. The movie will do for me.

It’s funny actually though because this is Dakota’s first huge breakout role. The last thing I even remember her in was The Five-Year Engagement so I’m kind of excited to see how she does with Anastasia. Click the cut for more gorgeous looks from this spread:
