What We’re Listening to This Weekend:

Since the beginning of the year, it feels like nearly every weekend has been jam packed. Last weekend, we were in San Diego and next weekend we’re headed to Tahoe. Today, though, is one of those Saturdays that I get to have to myself… until we celebrate our birthday later on this evening. I’m unwinding right now on my couch with Chipotle on my left, Mango Green tea on my right, and with a soundtrack to Quadron. It’s not often that I find myself falling in love with whole albums, but when we do have one of those, we prefer to highlight them in “What We’re Listening to This Weekend.” I can listen to the entire album from start to finish and after it ends, I’ll start it back from the top. Kevin was actually the person that introduced me to Quadron and I had a chance to see her in concert when she opened for Mayer Hawthorne back in 2014. Not much music has been released since this album, but we’re okay with listening to this to hold us over for the time being. She’s also making music under the name Coco O.

What We’re Listening To:

I typically reserve Sundays to be my personal days. They are the days that I run my errands, indulge in my favorite comfort foods, and get a huge chunk of uninterrupted work done. It’s the most relaxing day of the week and I get to spend the majority of it at home, which I love. For the past couple of weeks, I’ve been picking the soundtracks to my Sunday and this week, I thought I’d share a pretty special one – a little bit of a throwback if you will – well if we’re going to consider 2013 a throwback. I don’t think I could ever get tired of hearing Coco’s voice. Kevin was actually the one who introduced me to her way back when (he gets credit this time!) and I had the chance to see her in concert opening for Mayer Hawthorne a couple years back as well. If you’re looking for something that’s soothing around the house, to unwind before bed, or for when you feel very sassy and feminine, then you’re going to love Avalanche. Listen to it from beginning to end and if you love it, feel free to repeat. We are.

Quadron – Avalanche

It seems like everyday I’m becoming obsessed with a new Quadron song. First it was LFT, then Crush, and now Avalanche. I’m willing to bet that I do this nearly everyday with the rest of the album.

Quadron – Ex Factor (Lauryn Hill cover)

I watched Quadron perform this cover last night opening for Mayer Hawthorne in Oakland and it absolutely blew me away. For one, how did I not realize this was a classic Lauryn Hill song? After leaving, I knew I had to find a video of her performing this cover and while it is amazing, seeing this live is so much better.
