Currently Craving: Thanksgiving Stuffing Tots

I spent all afternoon down at Crissy Field today and while it was a beautiful day with an even more gorgeous sunset than I could have ever imagined, I was really looking forward to winding down this evening. I love my friends and doing things socially throughout the weekend, but I’m also the biggest homebody you’ve ever met. My nights consist of snuggling underneath my king size blanket draped over my couch, watching a movie, lighting some candles, and vegging out on comfort food. With Thanksgiving just around the corner, it’s no surprise that I’ve got a craving for all of my favorite dishes from the holiday. I came across this recipe this weekend that combines my two loves – stuffing and tots! How does this get any better? Gravy dipping sauce. You’re welcome.

I haven’t done a whole lot of cooking in a few years, but I took a glance over the recipe and it definitely seems doable. Readers, any of you up to give this a try before me?

Beating the Heat: 5 Agua Fresca Recipes

[Roasted Strawberry Agua Fresca]

I spend a great deal of time every day adding to my Pinterest boards and realizing that I never do anything with them. Since I moved to California, I haven’t cooked a real meal out of my kitchen so there’s just no use for recipes. We also discontinued “Take Me There” Fridays. However, I’ve given this a lot of thought lately. For how much time I spend on the website, I should really be putting it to better use. If I can’t do anything with all of this inspiration, I should pass it on.

So when I can or when I feel strongly towards a particular idea or a theme, I’ll be posting 5 pins centered around that.

Several weeks ago, we had the best agua fresca we’ve ever tasted during brunch at Slow Club in San Francisco. I still haven’t forgotten about it. Later that night, we decided to make our own watermelon lime agua fresca. By hand. No mixer. No blender. Just chopping everything up and squeezing it into a strainer. It turned out amazingly and our friends loved it too (or they were just being nice to us.) The past few weeks in the Bay have been scorching hot and the only thing to cool down with is a glass of agua fresca so here are 5 recipes that I would try and make myself…or would purchase if I were out. That last one seems more likely.

Breakfast Banana Split

Dessert for breakfast? Why not! Bumbershoot weekend is just around the corner and if I’m going to start my marathon of concert watching all three days, then I’m going to need a hearty breakfast of some sort. I was browsing some blogs today when I came across this mouthwatering breakfast banana split. While it may look like an actual banana split, you’ll notice that some ingredients have been substituted to be more suitable for a breakfast meal. Topping off those bananas are scoops of Greek yogurt, jam (chocolate sauce substitute) and almonds and fresh berries.

Wait – can I have this for dessert too?
