Having grown up in Seattle, I always felt obligated to embrace the grunge look. Although it isn’t very me and I know for a fact that I can’t pull it off, I still have a place in my heart for it. It also doesn’t hurt that Free People knows what their doing in their new look book.

– Victoria’s Secret Angel Alessandra Ambrosio is four months pregnant! That means that when she was walking in the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show last month, she was about two months along. Favorite Event of the Year: Capitol Hill Block Party 2011
Two out of three days was just enough to make this festival not only the highlight of my summer, but the most memorable moment of the year. Who can turn down a weekend of great company, amazing live performances, free goodies, front row at Cults, stellar weather and meal breaks at all of my favorite restaurants just outside of the gates? You can’t.

Born and raised in the Pacific Northwest, I have never had the chance to embrace the California cool style. I did my fair share of shopping at Pac Sun during my pre-teen years and even liked my occasional Roxy pieces, but deep down, I knew that I wasn’t entirely pulling it off. The one item from my closet that has still lasted with me over the years is my C&C California striped yellow and lime tank top. I’m not sure where I’ll be next year, but if I ever get a chance to be back in California then I will definitely be giving it a second chance and hopefully wearing some of Quiksilver’s pieces. Their new Spring ’12 line is packed with items I want for my own closet!
Refinery 29 just introduced me to my new favorite time waster game, Hipster Dress Up! I know I’m pass the age of playing dress up, but this one was too much fun. Hipster Dress Up doesn’t mess around though, they’ve got all of the usual makings of a hipster – the Nike sneakers, oversized cardigans, hipster glasses – you name it. Is it fancy holiday party time yet? I’m just kidding – I like to pretend that I actually go to fancy holiday parties, but let’s be real – college students in the Northwest are not throwing them. Someday though dresses will serve their purpose, but unfortunately, that time is not now. Regardless, let’s just take a second to admire Alice + Olivia’s Holiday Lookbook.

This post from Refinery 29 doesn’t have much to do with anything really except for THAT is my sweater. Refinery 29 caught Megan on the street and photographed her for their street style segment because her outfit is kind of awesome. Yes, that sweater looks just as good in real life. I love.

Outside Lands had a phenomenal lineup this year and I was so jealous of all of my friends that got to attend. Can you believe that they are only four years old?! Someday…Outside Lands will be more than just a dream for me.
