Oscars 2020 Red Carpet

Regina King in Versace

It’s the last award show of the season! This year more than ever, it felt like it has flown by. I’m really excited to share these looks this evening though because we always expect to save the best for last. If I’m being honest, this last award show coinciding with the start of Fashion Week has felt like a lot. We’re a little bit “fashioned” out over here, but it just means that we won’t be returning back to this season again for a whole ‘nother year. Let’s make it a good one and end on a solid note.

BAFTAs 2020 Red Carpet

Florence Pugh in Dries van Noten

I thought we were going to have a little bit of a break this week from award show season with the Super Bowl happening, but I was wrong! Sure, the British Academy Film Awards is not a US award show, but it does recognize nearly all of the other films that are nominated here in the states. This year’s red carpet is one of my favorites! Coincidentally enough, at the top of my list are a handful of all black gowns which I can’t wait to share with you below. Can any of you guess my favorites?

2018 Met Gala Red Carpet

Amal Clooney in Richard Quinn with George by her side

Before I left the office tonight, my friend and coworker, Courtney, remarked that tonight’s Met Gala was the equivalent of a Super Bowl to anyone else. She wasn’t wrong! I put in the extra hours of work this weekend so that I could free up my Monday evening to work on crafting this post. Before I came home, I also went out for a glass of wine with a friend so that I could a) appreciate every look for the piece of art that is and b) to let my true opinions for every outfit shine through! Throughout the day in all my meetings, I was closely watching the coverage seeing bits and pieces here and there, but never spoiling it all for myself until I was able to digest it when I got home. I can’t imagine a better photograph to kick start this post.

This year’s 2018 exhibition was “Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination.”

Una

I love to watch movie trailers and I love to get excited about what’s coming out. However, when it really comes down to it, these movie trailers and their dates get lost in my own timeline. I somehow always forget when they come out and when they are released, I don’t make time to watch the film in theaters. It’s quite the problem to have, but it’s been awhile since I’ve watched a trailer (other than “Mother” recently) that caught my attention enough to post it on Yow Yow!

In “Una,” Rooney Mara plays a woman who previously engaged in a relationship with her much older neighbor. The film flashes between present day and her as a child with actor Ben Mendelsohn. After discovering Mendelsohn in the present day, she finds that he has completely stripped himself of his old identity – he has a new name and apparently, a new wife. Currently the film is slated to be released October 13th.

2017 Oscars After Parties

Elizabeth Banks in Elie Saab (this is so unbelievably stunning)

Nobody loves a red carpet more than I do. (Well maybe Ryan and Giuliana) but I don’t mess around on award show days and Sunday afternoons with the red carpet have a special reservation in my day planner. However, while everyone is anticipating THE red carpet, I’m also getting ready for my second wave – the red carpet of the after parties. This is where some of the most daring looks of the night come out. We’ve been doing this post after the award shows red carpet for years so if you’ve been with us awhile, this is nothing new to you. However, if you are new – welcome.

Oscars 2016 Red Carpet

Saoirse Ronan in custom Calvin Klein

*swoon* oh my gosh, isn’t she a vision? I was debating between using Saoirse or Alicia for the first photo of this post, but when it came down to it, I had to pick this one. The sequins, the Emerald green and the s/o to her Irish heritage is absolutely perfect. This is the perfect look for the nominated actress.

Apparently, I’m a little behind the times since this trailer came out this week and I’m just watching it now. This looks quite interesting though starring Joaquin Phoenix, Amy Adams, Rooney Mara and Scarlett Johansson.
