Oscars 2017 Red Carpet

Viola Davis in Armani Prive

WOW what an award show. We’re likely going to have a chat about all of the things that went on this evening, but for now – let’s just get to all of the red carpet details. There was a lot of fringe, a lot of neutral color tones and “Hollywood glam.” I’ll admit, when I watched the red carpet special, there weren’t many looks that blew me away right off the bat, but as the night went on, looks started to grow on me and we were able to figure out our top 5!

Golden Globe Awards 2017

Viola Davis in Michael Kors Collection

I spent a great deal of time today glued to my TV. Those hours of the red carpet and the actual award show aren’t hours that I can get back. My two takeaways? Well, I didn’t watch enough good movies in the last year and everyone that tried to pull off a long-sleeved dress this year on the red carpet failed. I did have a couple of favorite looks though and they came from those that surprised me! I always like doing this post the night of the award show so that people can have something to scroll through when morning comes around so with that here are my favorite looks as well as those that missed the mark.

I’m actually tired of this trend with dresses being one shouldered and have been for awhile, however, I love this color on Viola and she looks stunning. I also like that she decided to simplify both her and makeup so that the dress could just do its thing. The head-scratching moment of the night for this dress was when Ryan Seacrest asked her what color her dress was while everyone at home was like “um, can’t you tell what color this is?”

Sarah Jessica Parker wearing Vera Wang

Very rarely am I ever impressed by anything SJP wears. She looks like a marshmallow in this gown and I’m not happy with the way she styled her hair. The only way this look could redeem itself is if it were sleeveless and her hair were let down.

A Collection Part 40

As the years go on, the “A Collection” posts get farther and farther apart from each other! When it comes to the end of summer, I always feel like it’s the most appropriate time to wrap things up. I started this post back in April, can you believe it? It’s about time we got this published!

Goodbye summer. Hello fall! We’re so excited to be in you!

Father’s Day vs. April Fool’s Day

I swear, people on Facebook will believe just about anything. Today, I saw this strange post being passed around that my Facebook friends happened to be liking therefore having it appear on my newsfeed.

Fools.

The post apparently came from Ryan Gosling’s fan page on Facebook. Fan. Not official account or anything, folks. The caption for the photograph?

“This father’s day, I’ve decided to tell the story of how I became a father. This little guy was only 9 months old when I became his dad. His mom and I were great friends before she passed away from cancer. I promised her, I’d always look after him. So, I had decided to step up and become his dad. He brought me so much joy. He was my everything. 1 year later after the adoption, his biological father wanted him. Of course, I put up a fight, but he won. That 1 year of being his father taught me how to love unconditionally. We have to stop and be thankful for our children and children should stop and be thankful for their parents. What I truly learned most of all is, every child needs love.”

As much as we all love Ryan Gosling and sure, it would be great if this were true, there were quite a few people who weren’t going to believe it without doing some digging.

From an Ohnotheydidnt post…

As far as we know, there is nothing to this story: we’ve found no previous account of Ryan Gosling ever having an adoptive child, much less losing one. Moreover, the URL included at the end of the Facebook post, supposedly a link readers can follow to help “Save thousands of children,” simply leads to a site hawking Limited Edition Ryan Gosling Clothing, leading many viewers to suspect that the original Facebook post was simply a fabricated tale intended to drive web users to an online merchandise outlet.

Inception IRL

This is my favorite thing on the internet today. Macaulay Culkin is wearing a t-shirt of Ryan Gosling wearing a t-shirt with Macaulay Culkin on it. It is just too good.

I guess this goes without saying, but we’re glad that Macaulay has this for him today because let’s be real – his ex Mila Kunis is expecting, engaged, and totally winning.

Hey Girl

Yesterday, we pretty much discovered the best Chrome app to ever be invented. Before we get started, I just have to know, is there any girl in the world that doesn’t find Ryan Gosling to be attractive? If after seeing a photo of Ryan Gosling or watching one of his films, are you ever depressed? Well – maybe with Blue Valentine. For the most part, you would probably answer “no” to both questions. Since this is somewhat of a universal theme, we can pretty much agree that Ryan Gosling is a babe and when the days get you down, a little dose of him wouldn’t do you any harm. With the “Hey Girl” app, you can automatically turn any unhappy web page into a better one because it will transfer all images on it into Ryan Gosling’s face.

Start your weekend off right by clicking here. You’re welcome.

A Collection Part 35

It used to take me over six months to go back to a blog that I haven’t visited in a while. With my new routine and schedule and the absence of homework, I am able to get through my blogs a lot quicker which frees up more time for me to be creative and to spend more time on posts that mean a lot to me instead of just posting and being done with it. Most of the photographs in this A Collection post came from one blog and go figure it’s called Thriving Twenties so of course we can relate hence why we love it.
