Currently Craving:

My Seahawks gave me an anxious-ridden win today, but we pulled through nonetheless! Because of that, I’m currently craving Kukuruza Beast Corn from the Seattle popcorn shop. I’ve never actually tried the lime and blueberry mixture, but I’m completely mesmerized by these colors and the Seattle Seahawks spirit! Unfortunately, this was only available for a limited time, but I’m crossing my fingers that a) it will be back and b) the next time it’s back I’m actually back in Seattle to snag myself a bag of it!

This shop is just my favorite – it’s pretty exciting to see how much they’ve expanded since I last ate their popcorn in college!

We Back In It, Hawks!

All this week, I couldn’t wait for Thursday because that meant the first game of the season for our Seattle Seahawks! It was a great win and a great start to what is about to be an amazing season! Seattle looked gorgeous today and I’m really looking forward to being back there in less than a week. Today’s first game also meant a rivalry between me and a coworker. I’m very lucky that Seattle came out on top because being in 49’er territory, I probably would have never heard the end of it!

Want to hear something else that was brutal? We gathered for the game today at 5:30 and the sound in our cafe wasn’t working so we watched the entire first half of the game in silence. Then at halftime, we all rushed home to our respective homes and a television with sound.

Because of this technical difficulty, it meant I had to miss not only Pharrell’s performance at the pre-show, but Ariana Grande’s performance of the national anthem! Where can I get a bedazzled jersey like that? Amazing.

Michelle Obama Interviews Richard Sherman

[youtube=http://youtu.be/3PhV9DzkV-s]

In a new video supporting her ‘Let’s Move!’ campaign, Michelle Obama interviews Richard Sherman who along with the Seattle Seahawks sous-chef cooks up an example of a healthy meal for children in school. The best part of this video? Richard Sherman responding to Michelle Obama spoofing his very controversial post-game rant from last season. How can we forget?

He is just the best.

Seattle Seahawks – World Champions

[youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9JfVuZF-T_Y]

Okay okay, I know I said I was done with this, but I can’t help it. Every time I watch something about the Seahawks or read something about my team, I get the biggest grin on my face. It’s amazing how this video showcases just how many people doubted our team and our players, but yet we came out on top anyways.

We did it. 2015 – Round 2.

“All We Do Is Win!”

I wish I could have written this right after we won the Super Bowl this weekend, but I was too busy celebrating. This win means so much to the city of Seattle and more than anything I wish I was home to be with the city and storming Capitol Hill like I know everyone else did. Every non-Seahawks fan called the game boring, but like…that’s because you weren’t dominating! I’m not sure what I would have preferred – a game that forces me to have a heart attack every minute or to rest easy knowing that you’re just going to win the whole damn thing.

I can’t even tell you for how long it has been that Seattle sports hasn’t been taken seriously – The Mariners, The Supersonics getting taken away. We needed this. Everyone said that we would never make it – that we weren’t the team to watch out for – that making it to the Super Bowl in 2005 was just a fluke, well what do you have to say about us now? We earned it.

I am overcome with this joy of having the best football team, the most driven and hungry players, crazy fans, and being from the city that backs all of this up completely.

Mandi and I couldn’t contain our excitement, clearly. After the win, we rounded up our crew and took on San Francisco with our Skittles and our Gushers (we love you Lynch and Sherman) and distributed our snacks to the best Seahawks fans in the city. We pretty much fed San Francisco.

Super Bowl 2015 – we’ll see you there!

Some of the the best articles came out yesterday after the win so here’s a roundup below:

Marshawn Lynch and His Skittles Deal

The days to the upcoming Super Bowl are winding down and the Seahawks players are becoming fast favorites! I don’t mind. I’m willing to share our team with other states that didn’t make it to the Super Bowl if people want to root for them. I’m not sure when everyone discovered that Marshawn Lynch’s favorite candy was Skittles, but it was announced TODAY that Lynch has struck a deal with them! As soon as I saw it, I had to have it. In fact, the desired feeling was so immediate that I ordered Tommy to try and find it on Google Shopping Express only to shortly discover that they were so limited edition that they won’t even be in stores!

Starting Wednesday, the limited edition pack of blue and green Seahawks skittles will be auctioned off here before the Super Bowl with proceeds going directly to Lynch’s charity – the Fam 1st Family Foundation.

Pinterest Allows You to Pin Animated GIFs

I cannot lie and say that I haven’t been waiting for this moment for some time now. It has been almost a dream for me to create a whole pin board dedicated to my favorite GIFs and now this has been made possible. As of right now, you can only pin GIFs on Pinterest via the internet, but the website promises that it will be on mobile soon enough. What has also made this a little bit more interesting is that you can share a GIF pin to another user on Pinterest. Basically you can do this on Facebook too, but I’m curious to see if this will pick up among their audiences. Below is my favorite GIF for the time being…because like we’re going to the Super Bowl next weekend y’all!

Richard Sherman Interviews the Tiniest 12th Fan

[youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Yio9ynKl0s#t=13]

I’m really tired of listening to Bay Area radio stations talk trash about Richard Sherman and how nasty they think Seattle is. We shouldn’t be blamed for the actions of a small group of people who chose to behave poorly.

Regardless, nothing can stop us from being Sherman fans and Seahawks fans in general. I am wishing more than anything that I could be back home for the Super Bowl!

Richard Sherman Don’t Have to Change

“I ran over to Crabtree to shake his hand but he ignored me. I patted him, stuck out my hand and said, “Good game, good game.” That’s when he shoved my face, and that’s when I went off.”

There’s a whole lot of debate about Richard Sherman’s post-game interview the day after the big Seahawks vs 49’ers game and frankly, I don’t find it to be a big deal. Sure, the rant was a little cray and intense, but that’s how Seahawks fans ARE. The whole city is kind of crazy and I love it. We’re going to the Super Bowl so of course everyone is a little bit excited and in the heat of the moment Richard Sherman just wasn’t holding anything back. I don’t think he necessarily said anything wrong though because everything he said was true…Crabtree was talking smack about Sherman earlier this week.

And in case you missed it… what everyone’s talking about on your Facebook newsfeed:

[youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ioo1iUdwAlU]

It’s uncomfortable to see how non-Seahawks fans reacted to this and how quickly this got ugly with racial comments. Cool it. Bros, u just mad you didn’t get it.

No, but in all seriousness, it’s a game. It’s a rivarly and I don’t think it’s something that people should take too seriously. Richard Sherman is not a villain. He is not uneducated. He graduated with a Communications degree at Stanford and he’s worked his ass off to get to where he is today. The city of Seattle is proud of him and the rest of the team and I don’t think they need to change up what they’re doing. Sherman knows that the post-game interview he gave may have come off wrong and because of that he’s written a post to address it. You can read it in full here – and it’s worth the read to at least hear the other side of the story.

Super Bowl Bound! #GoHawks

It feels GOOD to be a Seattlelite today and more than anything I wish I were back in Seattle roaming my streets and celebrating with the rest of the city. It was a good game. And I suffered through a bunch of anxiety just watching it. The rivalry spirit is strong and pretty much everywhere you go here in the Bay, but that’s to be expected. I am, after all, in the enemy’s territory. I did say today, however, that I didn’t feel like we deserved to be in the Super Bowl unless we could beat the 49’ers. They’re one of the best teams in the NFC and it was important to earn that win.

I wish I could be back to see the Seattle spirit. I’m so proud to be from this amazing city and I can’t wait to proudly rep my Russell Wilson jersey…when it gets to me!

We goin’ to the Super Bowl!!!!
