Mary Jane Watson To Be Recast

It looks like Emma Stone gets to keep her main man Andrew Garfield a little longer. Director Marc Webb has decided to completely streamline Mary Jane Watson’s story and has cut Shailene Woodley’s appearance from The Amazing Spiderman 2 from the film completely.

“I made a creative decision to streamline the story and focus on Peter and Gwen and their relationship,” said Webb. “Shailene is an incredibly talented actress, and while we only shot a few scenes with Mary Jane, we all love working with her.”

It is likely that Woodley will not return and that the part will be recast.

The Spectacular Now

I came across this movie trailer today for The Spectacular Now starring Shailene Woodley and Miles Teller and found it to be very nostalgic not just of my personal high school experience or anything like that, but high school for many people. It seems like a sweet film. Watch the trailer for the movie here.

The Academy Awards 2012

I absolutely love this gown on her. It’s so refreshing to see her not wearing black for once since most of her press outfits and even gowns on the red carpet recently have been black.

I spent most of the day watching the red carpet special for the Academy Awards yesterday as E! decided to start it around one if not sooner. Unfortunately, thirty minutes into the show, I decided to give up on watching it to spend my time with some great company. It’s alright – the red carpet is usually the main priority for me…that was until Ashley sent me a text that said, “We could have easily made tonight a drinking game,” which meant that I was missing a whole lot of highlights from the show.

I suppose I can just read about the rest of the stuff that happened during the show. I did, however, witness Sacha Baron Cohen as the Dictator dump Bisquick all over Ryan Seacrest’s Burberry suit. Just watching him trying to contain his anger over the situation was entertaining enough.

And with that, let’s get into some red carpet looks!

2012 SAG Awards

Rose Byrne in Elie Saab Couture

I was actually impressed by most of the looks I saw on the red carpet this year at the 2012 SAG Awards -more so than the Golden Globes. Rose Byrne, Michelle Williams, Emma Stone  were some of my favorites! I absolutely loved how Rose Byrne opted for a jumpsuit instead of a gown. It’s a risky choice, but the actress pulled it off. Also, her haircut is adorable with the look.

Shailene Woodley’s Fashion Flop

I never really understood her ABC Family series, “The Secret Life of an American Teenager,” but I gave it a shot anyways. It didn’t make sense to me that “Secret” was still in the title especially after the actual secret was spoiled within the first season. I also didn’t get why everyone in the show was obsessed with sex and relationships, but moreso sex – and don’t even get me started on the acting. I do not, however, doubt her acting performance in The Descendants. I have yet to see the film, but when a film gets nominated for Best Picture, you kind of assume that it’s good stuff right?

At the Golden Globes last night, Shailene Woodley’s Marchesa gown was stunning. Not only was it one of my favorite gowns from the collection, but Shailene wore it well topping my list of best dressed for the night. During the after party, she changed into yet another beautiful gown by Calvin Klein. It looked like the young actress was well on her way to becoming a budding style icon until…we got a shot of her footwear. Instead of opting for standard Jimmy Choos or Manolos, Shailene went for a pair of awkward Vibram “Five Finger” shoes. WHY!!! She was doing so well. Poor girl, I suppose I should be more sympathetic considering she was probably on her feet all night, but still. We’ve all got our own fashion rules. This dress deserved to be paired with something amazing, but instead we were graced with something resembling of webbed feet. If I were her, I would’ve kept my feet hidden the entire rest of the evening. I do commend her for making such a bold move though and going for comfort on this one.
