Even though Angel and I have only been to two countries in Asia together, one of the first things we do is scope out the coffee scene once we arrive. Coffee in our daily lives is essential. But I also think how a coffee shop lives in a community or a neighborhood has some significance as well. I love seeing how other countries put their own spin on espresso. Japanese coffee company [% Arabica] just underwent a renovation in their Shanghai spot and it is stunning. From the outside looking in, you can see everything leaving the space completely transparent. Surrounding the shop is also a beautiful concrete courtyard.
Just one look at this and I know that this is definitely a place that we’d stop into. The coffee company has several locations internationally with plans to open in the United States.
