RIP Paul Walker

I was at dinner this evening when I learned that Paul Walker had passed away at age 40.  Known for his stint in a string of teenage rom-com movies like She’s All That and the Fast and the Furious franchise, Paul was a dreamboat for the girls of the 90’s and the equivalent of our Liam Hemsworth. We are saddened and shocked by his death from a car accident and are sending prayers to friends and family affected. Paul leaves behind his young daughter Meadow.

Not Another Teen Movie

I wasn’t alive in the 80’s, but that doesn’t mean I don’t know about Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, The Breakfast Club, and Pretty in Pink.

They were classics! Everyone loved them and everyone still loves them to this day.

From the time I was born up until… 2000, teenage hit movies were all the rage. They were funny, refreshing, and most of the time true. I didn’t know that yet because I was still probably eight and hadn’t lived through high school. Also, the actors and actresses in these movies sometimes overlapped and I swear, these kids all did the same movies together.

  • She’s All That
  • Bring It On
  • Cruel Intentions
  • Never Been Kissed
  • 10 Things I Hate About You
  • American Pie

These had to be some of my favorite movies. A decade has passed and I want to know where they went. We had Mean Girls, yes, but that’s where it began and ended. Now that I’m ten years older, I wonder if I would still love these movies as much if they were to resurface again. Maybe it will just remain a part of my childhood.
