3rd “Sisterhood” Film Announced

I nearly squealed like a young pre-teen when I found out today that there would be a third “Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants” film. These books were my youth. I remember flying through these books in a matter of days and even though I had never gone through any of the experiences that the four friends went through, I somehow felt I could relate. I cried, laughed, and nodded in agreement to just about every situation as I read them and when I watched the two films that were created based off of the books, I did the same thing.

“Sisterhood Everlasting” was the last book in the series to be written and it fast forwards to 10 years later where we learn what the young women have been up to. The third film will capture that bringing the four actresses and real-life friends back together again.

One Week of Summer Down

After years of having not been able to completely finish a book (yep, this includes all textbooks required for school and leisurely reading,) I have finally finished a book. Three days. I can do ANYTHING this summer!

Sisterhood Everlasting

Every summer, I try to make it my goal to finish one book. Previous summer reading books have included Blink! The Tipping Point, and The Time Traveler’s Wife. Unfortunately, I’ve never been able to finish any of these books. Now, I don’t want you to get the idea that I’m not capable of finishing things I start, but with books it’s just tough. I get distracted, things come up, trips get planned, etc etc. I think the main issue is that I’m used to reading blogs everyday and since the length is much smaller in comparison to a book, I can’t seem to stay hooked.

When I learned last night that Ann Brashares had released a fifth book to the Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants series, I contemplated whether or not I would buy the book. Would it be worth $25 if I bought the book only to leave it lying around on my coffee table with only one chapter being read? Would I actually man-up and finish it? Maybe this time would be different. It did used to be one of my favorite series. I decided to take that chance and break that book curse. I WILL learn how to read BOTH blogs and books. So I walked myself down to Elliott Bay and bought the hardback, but surprised to find that the cover did not feature the pair of pants that the rest of the series had.

Wish me luck!
