Marni x H&M Directed By Sofia Coppola

In true Sofia Coppola fashion, this new campaign video for the Marni and H&M collection is reminiscent of her previous work. The prints are beautiful. The music serene – and the entire campaign just completely whimsical and enchanting. I know I used a lot of descriptive words in that, but it is what it is. Sofia Coppola’s directing style has always been mesmerizing to me and while it’s not for everyone, there is something about it that I love.
Versace x H&M
Last night Versace and H&M debuted their new collaborative collection together which featured Prince and Nicki Minaj as the evening’s performers and appearances by a number of celebrities. These are really my only favorite looks from the collection because it just isn’t my style – even if I could afford it. Below the cut are just some great looks by attendees.

Met Gala 2011
François-Henri Pinault with Salma Hayek both in Alexander McQueen
There was an unbelievable amount of love for Alexander McQueen and Stella McCartney at this year’s 2011 Met Ball. I think out of all the Met Ball’s I have seen, this one has provided the most looks that I have fallen in love with. Well done everyone.
This year’s theme was in tribute to the late designer Alexander McQueen as the museum debuted a new exhibition in his name. Since there were so many attendees this year, I decided to post only my favorite looks (and a few others) – don’t worry, it’s still pretty image heavy!

Movie Review: Somewhere
If I had to pick the shining star in this film it would be Elle Fanning hands down. The girl is a charmer and gives an effortless performance. She embodies both elegance and grace and brings life to her character. It is this liveliness and spark within her that causes a constantly brooding Stephen Dorff to wake up! Dorff plays Johnny Marco, an actor and playboy struggling to understand the purpose of his life. Yes, we’ve seen this plot played out many times before, but I assure you, it is not a quick transformation at all. Sofia Coppola has a unique style of direction that seduces the audience into a slow and quiet trance. This is an acquired taste, however, for it does not always sit well with some audiences. Her scenes are longer than usual with minimal dialog. The scene pans out giving us time to interpret what this actually means. There are even lengthy scenes of pure silence.
I can’t knock Coppola’s directing style because I think the film is brilliant. It is beautifully done, but it does lack substance at times. A bit of an explanation in some parts would have been helpful. Although I sometimes felt lost throughout the film due to the sporadic moments in Johnny Marco’s life , in the end, I believe I was lead to the right place.
It is a film worth watching, but it is entirely up for interpretation. It is not a film like Black Swan, in which you instantly know that it is a fantastic film.

I just adore Mark Ruffalo. Also, the actor from one my favorite movies “Little Manhattan” has grown up and is also starring in this movie.
Nic (Annette Benning) and Juls (Julianne Moore) were incredibly happy together. To complete their family, they decided to conceive by artificial insemination. Joni and Laser are two teenagers living in suburban Los Angeles. After Joni turns 18, the siblings decide to try and contact their biological father. He seems a bit out of place, but both Joni and Laser are just happy to have him back in their lives and hope they can have the father figure they always dreamed of.

Directed by Oscar winner Sofia Coppola, Somewhere tells the story of a rough-around-the-edges actor Johnny Marco (played by Stephen Dorff) who receives a visit from his daughter (Elle Fanning) He begins to develop a budding relationship with his daughter and is “forced to look at the questions we must all confront.”
