Yow Yow’s Yearly Recap

This year, the statistics behind Yow Yow! have served as a great resource for me in deciding which direction to take the blog. The stats may not have been as high as they were last year, but regardless the blog is still trucking on and you know what? I’m proud of what it’s become after three years. I’m still enjoying writing for it and if you guys are still enjoying the content – then that’s all that matters to me.

Stats from 2010 will be on the right and italicized while stats from 2011 will be left and bold.

Nomz: Chicken and Broccoli Stir-Fry

I just realized that my last Nomz: post was all the way back in late September. It’s cool – I eat during the school year, but I don’t always have time to make more elaborate meals because of my schedule. Luckily, since I am still on spring break, I had the chance to try out some recipes that I wouldn’t normally get to experiment with during the school week. A couple months ago, I was sent the $5 Dinner Mom – Breakfast and Lunch Cookbook by Erin Chase from St. Martin’s Press, which I used to help me make my dinner tonight.

The book is paperback and includes simple recipes perfect for breakfast, lunch, and snacking! The ingredients for each recipe are also broken down by price, which is ideal for a college student.

And, as always with Erin, the recipes are easy and family-friendly:

•    Chocolate Chip Raspberry Pancakes
•     Bacon and Egg Quesadillas
•     Vanilla Almond French Toast
•     Overnight Honey Nut Granola
•     Swiss Tuna Melts
•     Lasagna Roll-ups
•     Chuckwagon Chili

Feel free to check out her website here for more recipes!

Busy Bee

I’m always a little surprised at how little I post during the weekdays because of school, but really this should come as no surprise to me at all since this routine has been going on since September.

So the posts typically accumulate at the end of the week. However, for the next few weeks, I will be very occupied with a project that I’ve been working on. That means that in my free time, I’ll be putting time and effort into that. You’ll still get a post everyday, but they won’t be as elaborate and they’ll be short little bits.

I’ve also got a few projects/news to reveal for Yow Yow as well!

  • I’ll be receiving a new book soon from St. Martin’s Press to review for you all. It’s a book called The $5 Dinner Mom Breakfast & Lunch Cookbook” by Erin Chase.
  • I recently became a member of WhoWhatWear’s Style Circle! I’m not exactly sure what that means just yet, but I heard somewhere that I may be able to review beauty products and fill you in on some events going on as well.
  • I received an email from Teen Vogue today informing me that I was selected as a brand ambassador! No word yet on what the brand is. I think I am remember applying a few months back though so I’m hoping it’s the one I signed up for and it is the brand that I like!
  • Lastly, I had the opportunity to speak with Miss Liz Lee of MTV’s My Life As Liz last Friday! This weekend, I’ll be transcribing her interview and will have it up before the premiere of season two this Tuesday! She is such a lovely girl and I’m excited to share it with you all!

Thanks for sticking with me though. I have no way of gauging the demographics of my readers ever except for the stats I get and a number doesn’t say much nor is there any substance behind it. I do love comments though 😉 That’s more proof to me at least.

Have a great night everyone!
