Happy Monday readers! Today, we’re sharing a video that we wouldn’t normally share, but the reason why we’re sharing it is because Taylor Swift is the Maid of Honor. Since we found out that she was going to be standing alongside her first friend on her big day and after seeing the photograph of the two of them together, I thought that that was all we would be getting. To my surprise, we got a wedding video too! So many articles and posts mentioned that Taylor Swift’s speech at the wedding was the sweetest thing they ever heard and you know what? They weren’t wrong. It’s easily the best part of the entire wedding video.
I’ve never been the biggest fan of Taylor Swift, but I don’t mind her. I actually in a lot of ways admire her. She’s like everyone’s friend and while yes, I do know that people can manipulate social media to make them appear a certain way, but I like to believe that she really is a good friend to all her friends in real life. Haha in so many ways she actually reminds me of Mandi. This really was a beautiful wedding though so we’re happy to be sharing it today.
Brie Larson in Monse
This is my favorite because The Oscars red carpet tends to be very grand and conservative, but the after party is when things start to get a little bit sexier and you know all the stars that weren’t invited to the actual award show get to come out so that’s nice for them.
We HAD to kick this post off with Brie. Honestly, how could we not? Also, oh my goodness – is she wearing pink velvet? She not only was the best dressed of the night, but clearly the most comfortable the rest of the night. We just want to be friends with her.
Selena Gomez in Calvin Klein
The red carpet for me this year was just so-so. There wasn’t anything that I absolutely loved or hated, maybe in the end I just prefer things like the Golden Globes or The Oscars. Usually, the first look that I share is something that I really like. This time, though I give this look a 6/10. The sparkly blue is nice and sure the cut-outs are edgy, but it’s really not anything we haven’t seen before. Also her old school hair is just meh to me.
Tank top – Nordstrom / Shorts – Brandy Melville / Hat – Nordstrom / Booties – Munro (Nordstrom)
We actually blogged about our entire Taylor Swift concert experience a long time ago, but I remembered that I never talked about what I wore and this was an outfit that I was pretty excited about. It was one of the hottest days of the summer and this was the only big concert that I was going to be attending all season long so I had to make this count. I didn’t know what I was going to be wearing the day or even the week before, but I had an idea. I woke up early the morning of the concert just so I could go to the mall to make everything all fit together. Once I had the clothes, that hat became the last piece. I saw it on display right as I was about to head out of Nordstrom and I’m not a HUGE hat person by any means, but little did we know that this very hat would be making lots of appearances in our outfits after this day. I really love this shot because this was right next to our Taylor tailgate and this wide open space before everyone arrived was perfect.
Crop top – Aritzia / Skirt – H&M / Birkenstocks
We’re so behind on our posts that this outfit dates all the way back to August! Nearly a year before Taylor Swift’s actual “1989” show in Santa Clara, my coworkers bought about 20 tickets so they could all go together. They kept asking me if I had wanted to go, but I kept turning down the opportunity because I didn’t think I was a big enough fan to be deserving enough to go. Also, I hadn’t listened to her “1989” album at all except for the songs that had been released on mainstream radio (big mistake on my part.) As we got closer and closer to the actual concert date, I started to experience FOMO. Luckily, a couple tickets opened up and I raised my hand right away! I was so excited that I decided to wear a crop top with my outfit the next day in true Taylor fashion. I hope I made her proud!
I’ve been listening to Wildest Dreams on repeat since it came out and I didn’t know if I could love another version other than Taylor’s, but I think this one by Kygo and Ella Henderson brings out a new kind of emotion. I’m pretty excited about it.
In case you missed it, Taylor Swift released the music video for her newest single “Wildest Dreams” last night during the pre-show of the VMAs and we’re in love with it. The first time I ever heard this song was a few weeks ago at her concert and really found myself mesmerized by it. I couldn’t wait for the video to be shot and released and now the video paints an even more vivid picture of the story. It’s very romantical and sweet and makes me confused because I cannot tell whether or not I have a love/hate relationship with Taylor. It’s probably love though.
This is actually becoming a “thing” for me now. I even decided to follow Taylor’s Instagram account because I’m so curious to know every night who she’s going to bring out! Honestly, when I attended her concert last week, I think my co-workers have never seen me more excited for her to announce who the guest was and it’s weird because if I had to designate myself a percentage for how much of a fan I am, it’s 57%.
So last night, Taylor brought out the STARS! Uzo Aduba joined her as they sang “White Horse” together. Mary J. Blige sang two songs! And then Taylor brought out Sean O’Pry – the actor from her “Blank Space” video and … wait for it – Matt Leblanc and Chris Rock. HOW random is that? Now, I really suggest you watch the video above this because it. is. awkward. I was left with so many questions afterwards that I think I’m now starting to wonder if D-list stars are paying TAYLOR to appear at her shows. Man, she’s so powerful. And this video is so lol.
I think this just made my entire Friday! A 7-year old boy who was diagnosed with autism at age 4 loves Taylor Swift so much that he memorized this piano medley for her of 1989. And it’s actually incredible.
Taylor has since responded to the young boy via Twitter and has invited him to one of her shows!
Sometime last year, my co-workers had bought 24 tickets to Taylor Swift. At the time, I was like “Oh, nah I don’t want to go. I hadn’t even listened to 1989 really.” Then the week before the concert was actually happening, a serious wave of FOMO fell over me. I needed a ticket. I wanted to go, but I didn’t want to say anything because I had turned it down so hard before! Luckily, someone pulled out in that final week and a spot had opened up to which I quickly accepted. Even in the time since the album was released, I still hadn’t listened to it that much other than the songs that had gotten radio play, but I was still really excited. I’ve heard such good things about Taylor as a performer and I really wanted to see it for myself!
As a group, we held a “Taylor Tailgate” prior to going into Levi’s Stadium. The demographics around us? Young girls and their parents, as expected! This was still one of the most fun things that I’ve been a part of this summer though :)
Taylor Swift said Happy Birthday to her BFF Karlie Kloss today and hey – Calvin Harris just happens to be in the photo too. We see you, Taylor.
