An Everlane Event

Tank top – Nordstrom / White skort – Aritzia / Grey cardigan – Zara / Black boots

Sometime last month, Alex, Kelly, and I stopped by an event at the Everlane offices to showcase some of upcoming season’s latest items. This was actually the first fashion event I’ve ever been to in San Francisco so it was pretty exciting, but also a little bit intimidating! It was kind of like all of the best dressed people in San Francisco were present at this event and we felt a little bit out of place. I like to think of Everlane as a sort of fashion start-up so it was still just interesting for me to be visiting another office in that space. We didn’t stick around for too long or mingle with very many people, but enjoyed the experience. After the event, we took advantage of the murals in The Mission and used them as our backdrops for our photographs before ducking into a wine bar for some late night sangria. Also, where I happen to be standing in this photo was completely unintentional! Only after did we realize that it looked like I was the one being “painted.”

A Visit to the Heath Factory

IMG_3117

Even though Mandi and I have been living in the Bay Area for almost two years now, there is still so much for us to explore so we typically save some time on the weekends for us to get together to do things that we love to do like hipster wedding expos, for example! This trip, however, was a very special one. Heath Ceramics was something that I learned about from my former manager when I first started working in California and a thing that I now find I should be working towards saving my money for! They are some of the most beautiful pieces I’ve ever seen! Since Mandi is newly engaged and planning every aspect and detail of her wedding, we sort of decided (or I suggested) that she should DEFINITELY be putting these on her registry. There’s really no better time to be asking for these. We decided though that we needed to take a closer look though so we signed up for a free tour so that we could learn more about Heath and see the factory for ourselves.

The Weekend: 5 Things

IMG_2839

Everytime I travel somewhere, I always feel like I need the next weekend after to completely unwind! That didn’t really happen this time around though because I packed my entire Saturday with being in the city. I ventured to a new part of town for the first time and discovered Cole Valley with my pal Erica. It’s considered a neighborhood, but really it only has two blocks of shops and a brunch place that we did not love. Womp womp.

I love how most of the charming houses in San Francisco are always pastel colored. Funny, for someone who used to tell people my favorite color was “pastel” I am living far from this city.

Work From SF

Dress – Aritzia / Denim shirt – Madewell / Black boots – borrowed from mom years ago!

The other day we had the opportunity to work from the city instead of our office in South Bay – an opportunity I always take when I have the chance! It’s actually such a great perk from the company because we get to rent an Airbnb for the day, have breakfast and lunch and then celebrate with drinks after. We were all working pretty diligently in The Mission that day, but Alberto and I snuck out for a mini photo break to capture our latest OOTD.

The Weekend: 5 Things

Processed with VSCOcam with m5 preset

It has been a long time since I’ve had a jam-packed weekend like this one. We were talking about everything we did this morning and already what we did on Friday seemed like it happened last week. We spent our Saturday exploring The Mission, which in a way feels like home to me because it is so similar to Capitol Hill. Since we were in the neighborhood I consciously found myself craving an Earl Grey Milk Tea. Oh and we happen to be in the same neighborhood where Boba Guys is located? How convenient…

Boba Guys doesn’t double up as a shoe start if this photograph confused anyone. We also stopped by Shoe Biz.

Fellow Barber

Somebody needed a hair chop so we took a number at Fellow Barber. This little doggie was too cute.

Last week, I wrote a post about Urban Putt – the new indoor mini golf course located in The Mission! As a surprise to my friends, I organized a get together for us. Since it was their first weekend open they were in “Beta Mode” and instead of charging $12 per person, we only had to pay $6 per person. Not a bad deal. The golf course was interesting and full of San Francisco character. Our wait was 40 minutes when we got there at 7:30, but understandable since it was opening weekend. The beers were cheap and the place was packed. Unfortunately, we only got about five holes before we decided to throw in the towel. We have commitment issues. I think we need to get our practice going and have been thinking of getting a complete setup done at home so that I am better at this game when I do return.

Classic photo bomber.

If you’re looking for something to watch on NetFlix, I highly recommend Short Term 12. I actually blogged about this film last summer when I first came across the trailer and now that I’ve seen the film I think it is extraordinary. If you’re going to watch it, make sure you have a box of tissues next to you. I found myself curled up in a ball weeping over Brie Larson and the rest of the people in this film.

Sometimes, you just have to let it out.

Bay Area Eats:

Processed with VSCOcam with g3 preset

The photographs that I end up editing through VSCOcam and send to email always tend to appear much darker than they are in the app.

I’ve had the privilege of eating at West of Pecos in the Mission twice now and each time I go there I’m always surprised that there is never a crowd. We never have to wait very long to be seated (or at all) and we definitely don’t have to wait too long for our food. Now I know what you’re thinking. There’s probably a reason why there isn’t a wait because it isn’t very good. No, that’s not true at all with West of Pecos. I’ve never had anything, but brunch with them so I’m itching to try their dinner, but their brunch is pretty phenomenal. I like to order the American Breakfast which is two eggs any style, a biscuit with their orange colored butter, and their home fries. My eating buddy also like to split an order of the maple glazed pork belly. It comes in three pieces so it’s perfect for sharing and it’s the best way to start your day.
