Let’s Talk Top Chef!

They were here. It’s happening. The new season in Seattle will be airing November 7th on Bravo!! Unfortunately, none of this season’s contestants are from the actual city itself (that’s a first, kind of!) but who cares. The season was filmed here, which means I get to point out all of my favorite places to eat excitedly to people around me who just don’t care.

So let’s talk details. They are calling this the “back to basics” season. There’s a new judge on the panel and he goes by the name of Wolfgang Puck. You can check out all of the contestants here. Tom Douglas to open a new restaurant

Seattle produces good food. Can we all agree on this? I always enjoy eating out in Seattle. Though I’ve never eaten at one of Tom Douglas’s infamous restaurants, I know that he is one of the most amazing chefs in this city. He is the owner of Serious Pie, Lola, Etta’s, and the Dahlia Lounge, but he’s not stopping just yet. Tom Douglas will be opening a new restaurant located right next door to Etta’s near Pike Place Market. This will not be an extension of Etta’s, it will b e a new restaurant completely.

As reported by several sources, the owner has some exciting plans for the new food hub. Though we may not know for sure what new attractions are waiting for us there, we might guess some of them. For starters, the locals believe that he is planning to hire new staff. He is rumored to be looking for the best waiters, waitresses, and kitchen staff, including the chef, (perhaps, he is willing to seek help from firms like hospitality headhunter in order to find them).

Besides this, it might also be assumed that the owner would get his hand on some of the best appliances for his kitchen and of course, he would get them installed by the professionals like FFD – Commercial Refrigeration Specialists, washing station installation experts, and more as per the requirements, to ensure that the machines function at their best capacities. Certainly, this is one thing any person in the food business cannot compromise with. In furtherance, he might also ensure the installation of basic safety equipment like a kitchen fire suppression system (and given the owner’s reputation, regular kitchen suppression system inspection may also take place–the owner seems to be careful about these things), exhaust machines, and proper ventilation systems. However, besides this, many are also guessing that the new restaurant might have an aesthetic look with a touch of modernism in its dcor. The expectations do not just stop here.

Many also believe that the restaurant might have an open dining area and a live kitchen, which could act as the main attraction. Though no one knows what the owner’s actual plans are, one thing is for sure the restaurant is already a hot topic in the area and has already made an impression even before its conception. Moreover, looking at the excitement of the neighbourhood, it can be safe to say that they are eagerly waiting to visit the restaurant. So, as soon as it opens its doors to the customers, it might find a huge crowd already waiting outside.
