Turkey Recreates The OC

It doesn’t matter what anyone says; The OC was an iconic television show. Sure, it may have gone downhill after Marissa Cooper died, but don’t even try to deny that you weren’t hooked after the first season. Ten years have passed, but Turkey is getting in on their series and has created their own version called, “Medcezir.” (or Tide in English) The Turkish adaptation of the series aired last Friday and will run for 13 episodes this season.

You have to admit, they did a pretty good job recreating this promo photo. I almost mistook it for the original series at first glance.

Yunak Evleri Cave Hotel, Turkey

Someday, I hope that I can travel to all of the places that I have ever written about including this incredibly breathtaking hotel in Turkey that was built using the foundation of the caves. How they managed to turn it into a full-time hotel is beyond me.

Would you Wear:

I’m all about accessorizing and such, but when it comes to making my mouth look lopsided – no thank you. Burku Büyükünal is a Turkish designer who has been creating these types of “face jewelry” since 2008 when she was a student attending the Istanbul Technical University. Back then she was studying industrial design. Aside from designing jewelry that contorts your face, she also has her own line of colored rings and bobby pins that appear to be on the more “safe” side of things.

I don’t think I could ever pull this off, but I don’t think I would want to. I’m sure Burku has done a fine job in creating these pieces, but I’m too afraid I’ll lose an eye or both or any other body part of mine.
