Turntable Ettiquette

Dear DJs,

Can you please stop hounding me to bob my head and click “awesome” to the songs you spin?
There’s no rule that says I have to, regardless of what you say. And whilst we are on the topic of what you say, how dare you threaten to kick those that don’t like your songs out of the room!!

You’re power-hungry with your points. Please – I’ve been on Turntable longer than you and it was much better before all you pretentious snobs got there.

More to the point, I may not have any dj equipment but I know exactly where to get it and I bet within a few weeks I’d be better than you on a real turntable as well. I bet most of you don’t even have any proper dj equipment!!

And when I called you out by asking you why you were persistent (essentially making you look kinda stupid) you responded with “because it’s nice.” What a stupid answer!

So stop acting like you are special, or so much more important than anybody else. Because you aren’t. As I said, you guys are ruining Turntable. It was so much better before you all came and tarnished it. We were happy before you came and we all enjoyed using Turntable, so if you’re not careful everyone will leave and it will just be you snobs left playing to nobody. Think hard about that.

I don’t play like that. And…what kind of world do you think we live in?

1 Band 1 Brand

For as long as I have known, music and fashion have gone hand-in-hand. The collision of the two art forms together have inspired each outlet equally and to witness this progression over the years has been astounding. Kurt Cobain’s music paved the way for the grunge period while Lady Gaga’s work today has somewhat transformed her fashion get-ups from when she first started.

It isn’t difficult to see that there is definitely some overlapping. 1 Band 1 Brand has recognized that and are dedicated to promoting both emerging bands and up-and-coming fashion designers with their new start-up. Each week, registered users will have the opportunity to learn about one band and one brand. The band’s music will be available for pay-your-own-price. More recently, I have actively been trying to find out ways to listen to tons of new artists and bands for some upcoming research that I’m doing. Unfortunately, I wasn’t getting a lot of responses from Yow Yow! but managed to find opportunities in music blogs, and sites like Turntable, We Are Hunted, and now 1 Band 1 Brand. Needless to say, I already registered.
