Food Tutorials by David Ma

Following instructions or a recipe doesn’t always come easy to me. Sometimes I get tripped up on even the simplest steps. Other times I am better reading things out loud or just viewing a visual. Food artist, David Ma, recently created these recipe tutorials and molded them from the inspiration of four very well-known directors. My favorite is this “S’Mores” one inspired by Wes Anderson. At the source, you can check out the other pieces that will remind you of Quentin Tarantino, Michael Bay, and Alfonso Cuarón.

Golden Globes 2015 Red Carpet Arrivals

Dakota Johnson in Chanel Haute Couture

On Golden Globe night, I had a very difficult decision to make. I could either watch the award show or grab dinner with some friends and watch Selma. In the end, I chose to let the show go, but only because I was able to watch the red carpet and felt like I got what I needed. Within the first 30 minutes of the E! Live Red Carpet show, I wasn’t impressed with any of the looks, but as the program went on, I felt like I had something positive to say about nearly every look. This morning, we’re kicking things off with Dakota Johnson. I never read 50 Shades of Grey, but now that I’ve been seeing more ads, I’m becoming much more curious about the film. I love that she chose this gown because she looks fantastic in it, but if I could change anything about this look, I would’ve wanted her to go completely sleek with her hair just to make it look like she didn’t walk straight out of the movie trailer we’ve been seeing for the past month.

The Weekend: 5 Things

Anyone that knows me knows that I rarely do anything on a week night. I was somehow convinced this past Thursday to see The Grand Budapest Hotel at Kabuki in Japantown for a 9:55 PM showtime and I didn’t hate it.  Since  I loved Moonrise Kingdom so much, I was pretty sure that I was going to enjoy this Wes Anderson film as well. I did, however, fall asleep for maybe 10 minutes, but other than that the move was great!

During brunch, you’ll almost always see me ordering an omelette or a scramble. Yesterday, I had a huge craving for something sweet at brunch at Country Way in Fremont and couldn’t say no to the Strawberry French Toast. How do people eat this much food?!

After much deliberation, I finally caved and decided to chop off all of my hair using Emma Roberts’ latest style as my inspiration.

Our Henry turned 23 yesterday at the Sundog Balloon!

Twice in one weekend.
